World Cup 2018: Healthy Game Day Snacks
Italian Pesto Hummus and Celery
What you’ll need:
- 200g Pre-made hummus (lazy or genius? you decide)
- 174cup Basil Pesto
- 1tsp Paprika
How to prepare:
- Put hummus and pesto into blender for 1-2mins (until colour is consistent)
- Pour out into bowl and garnish with paprika
- Wah-la! Serve up with chopped celery and bask in compliments to the chef
Sticky, Spicy Marinated Tofu
What you’ll need:
- 275g Tofu (firm)
- 1/4cup Water
- 2tbsp Soy sauce
- 1tbsp Maple syrup
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1tbsp Sriracha Sauce
- 1tbsp Olive oil
- 1/3cup Sesame seeds
How to prepare:
- Mix marinade ingredients in bowl (all the ingredients on the list except for the tofu)
- Chop tofu into square drunks
- Add tofu to the mix and leave in fridge for 15mins (the longer you leave it the more flavour!)
- Remove tofu and drain liquid (keep it in a bowl)
- Heat tofu in frying pan until golden brown
- Add liquid you drained into the pan and cook until sticky
- Dip into sesame seeds and serve
Rustic Bruschetta with Tomato and Basil
What you’ll need:
- 1-2cans Chopped tomatoes (depending on number of guests)
- 1/2clove Garlic (peeled and chopped into large chunks)
- 1-2 loaves Bruschetta bread
- 1/4cup Olive Oil
- 1handful Basil leaves (finely chopped)
- 1handful Parmesan cheese shavings
- Balsamic vinegar
- Black pepper
How to prepare:
- Heat half of olive oil in pan for 2-3mins then add in garlic
- Cook garlic until golden brown
- Add in chopped tomatoes and continue to heat for another 5mins
- Slice bruschetta bread and pour olive oil over slices (make sure not to cut it too thin)
- Pour tomatoes and garlic onto bread and sprinkle with black pepper and basil leaves
- Garnish with balsamic vinegar and cheese shavings
Berry-topped Yogurt Pots
What you’ll need:
- 1-2kg Plain Yogurt (depending on number of guests)
- 200g Raspberries
- 200g Blueberries
- 300g Granola
- Sugar
- Lemon juice
How to prepare:
- Pour yogurt into glass pots (if you want to look sophisticated – which of course you do!)
- Stir in 1tsp of sugar and a few drops of lemon juice into each pot
- Sprinkle a small mound of granola over the top
- Finish with Raspberries and Blueberries
