Earth Day is celebrated every year on 22 April. It's a day where we can come together to take action and make positive changes for our planet. Remember that every action, no matter how small, contributes to the greater good.
It was first held on 22 April 1970 in the United States by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson, together with environmental activist Denis Hayes, as a day of environmental awareness and action. Over time, this event has sparked more and more interest, and many organisations have joined the movement to fight the impacts of industrial development.
Here at GreenJinn, this is a very important day for us. Sustainability is one of our core values. We care about our planet in everything we do and we always aim to create a positive impact on our environment and encourage our community to do the same. We care about our planet, our team, the brands we work with, and our community! That's why we created our Go Green with GreenJinn series, to keep all of us informed and reduce our impact on the environment.
As you may have seen last year, for every receipt submitted on Earth Day we offset 1kg of carbon! We decided to continue this and do the same this year 🙌
We are happy to announce that this year, thanks to YOU, we offset 11 tonnes of CO2 through our GreenJinn Gardens! This has gone into three impactful projects:
🌱 Conserving the Amazon in Brazil
❌ Avoiding methane emissions from landfill in Brazil
🌳 Funding a tree in Mozambique
Thank you to all of you for helping us bring our GreenJinn Gardens to 6,894 trees planted and 462 tonnes of carbon offset!
Let's commit to making positive changes today ensuring a beautiful Earth for generations to come 💚
